FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Oct. 15, 2024 – The Burlsworth Trophy announces its Walk-On of the Week for week seven of the college football season. To be eligible for Burlsworth Trophy recognition a player must have begun his FBS (D1) college football career as a walk-on.
Richie Hoskins – Vanderbilt – Senior WR
Senior wide receiver Richie Hoskins had a big impact on offense in the Commodores 20-13 win over Kentucky. Hoskins started at slot receiver and caught a season-high 3 passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. He led the team in receiving for the first time in his career, which included his season-long 21-yard reception that went for a 1st down, which set up his 18-yard TD catch that gave the Commodores the lead for good with 13 seconds left in the 1st half.
Hoskins, who began his career as a walk-on, is a team captain and made the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll last year.
